New pricey toy

Nokia has released the long awaited N95 smart phone. The new device has an interesting and innovative slider design, a mighty camera and a 2,6 inch QVGA screen. It support WLAN, HSDPA, EDGE and WCDMA.

The 5 Mpix camera boasts a Carl Zeiss auto focus lens, and there's a secondary CIF video call camera. The main camera video mode is VGA at 30fps. Music lovers won't be disappointed either as the device has stereo speakers and a 3,5mm audio out.

The 160MB of embedded memory probably won't be enough for the more demanding customer. No need to worry, the miniSD slot supports up to 2GB of additional memory, and the device is shipped with a 128MB card.

The phone uses Symbian OS 9.2, S60 rel. 3 operating system. One of the more interesting features is the Nokia Maps GPS software with maps of 150 countries worldwide. At the moment you can get the new Nokia only in silver.

Prices for the EU market are still not clear, however we got some rather negative price related comments from Asia. The consumers in that part of the world expect a price in excess of 900USD. It won't get much cheaper here either.
