AT&T put an end to all the rumors and guesses work today with the news that they will, in fact, launch the BlackBerry Curve 8900 in an early summer release as we predicted earlier.

The news that AT&T would join the ranks of T-Mobile in the U.S. in launching the 8900 is not really that big of a surprise considering that the company has been working through the Curve 8310 inventory that they have had for some time. While the company did release the Curve 8320, it was not a direct replacement for the 8310, but did offer the Wi-Fi support that many BlackBerry users were craving.

The 8900 will offer Wi-Fi support and we can confirm that the company will (at least for the time being) continue to offer the 8310, as well. The news that AT&T will offer the 8900 seems to put to rest all of the rumors that the company would not be adding any additional devices to the lineup that didn’t offer 3G support.

No word yet on exactly what the 8900 will cost at AT&T, but we suspect that it will likely be $200 with a two-year contract.
