Thanks to Danish hacks over at mobil.nu, we now know a bit more about Sony Ericsson's upcoming Android phone, codenamed Rachel.
Rachel is part of SE's Xperia smartphone series, but unlike the X1, it
has no keyboard, but has a somewhat larger touchscreen. We're not sure
about the screen size, but the resolution stayed the same, 800x480,
which is plenty compared to other smartphones. It looks a bit bigger
than the one on the X1, and it probably measures around 4 inches.
One clear benefit of dropping the slide-out keyboard is the looks, as
the new phone ends up much slimmer than the X1, and looks quite a bit
more elegant. It's not just cute, it's pretty powerful, too. Powered by
a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, speed shouldn't be an issue, and
you can also look forward to an 8.1MP AF camera, albeit without a flash.
The only thing that worries us is the price, as its predecessor wasn't cheap, and this thing looks quite a bit better than the X1.
