Nokia has unveiled the X6, a feature packed successor to the 5800 which failed to drink Apple's milkshake last time around.
Although the 5800 was a rather well spec'd phone, it really didn't look
nearly as attractive as the iPhone or some other competing models.
However, the X6 is worlds apart, and it looks pretty good. It is a bit
slimmer, measuring just 14mm at the waist, and it looks quite a bit
more stylish than the plasticky 5800.
In terms of hardware it's pretty close to the 5800, and still packs the
same 3.2-inch 640x480 touchscreen, A-GPS and the same Symbian Series 60
OS, with a few tweaks. Like the recently launched 5530, it has a
redesigned UI with some social networking features, and unlike the 5800
it ships with 32GB of storage and a 5MP camera.
Not bad, but at €459 without taxes or subsidies it costs twice as much as the old 5800, and this is a
hard pill to swallow. True, it's still some €200 cheaper than a 32GB iPhone
3G, but what's not cheaper than an iPhone?
