HTC has unveiled a rather interesting handset for punters who find the HD2 a bit too chunky and pricey.
The HD mini is, well, just that - mini. It measures 103.8 x 57.7 x
11.7mm and weighs 110g, which sounds quite compact compared to the rest
of HTC's lineup. It doesn't miss out on a lot of features, though. The
mini features a 3.2-inch 320x480 touchscreen, which doesn't sound to
impressive compared to the HD2, but it has a 600MHz Qualcomm processor,
384MB of RAM, microSD slot for storage and a 5MP camera, so the rest of
the package is quite good actually.
It also includes GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 1200mAh battery. The mini
runs Windows Mobile 6.5.3 with HTC's Sense interface and it ships with
the highly acclaimed Opera Mobile browser. HTC even managed to squeeze
an FM radio into the slimmed down handset.
The company claims it will start shipping it in select markets in April, but there's no word on price yet.
