Palm boss admits cock up

But we will get it right next year
Palm boss Jon Rubinstein has admitted that the company made a large number of mistakes and failed to increase its market share, which ultimately caused it to be bought by HP.

However in an interview he said he thinks they are going to get better for the outfit. After all they can't really get much worse.

Rubinstein said he was enthusiastic about plans for WebOS next year, now that the Pre 2 is out. He also made some references to a tablet and a smartphone, but did not spill any beans about the OS ending up in non-traditional devices like printers.

The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hellish rumour that HP could potentially swap Windows 7 on the HP Slate 500 tablet for the WebOS. The advantage would be the device would run faster but be cheaper because there would be no Windows licenses. Jon Rubinstein told the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco that there would be lots of new gear out next year from Palm.

It looks like despite being bought out by HP he is trying to make it all business as usual.
