All about improvements
Google's Android 2.3 has finally become official and the improvements are pretty impressive.

The new Android 2.3 Gingerbread should bring better VoIP support, video calling with support for multiple cameras, gyroscope support with better orientation data, better cut-and-paste support, improved download manager, a new keyboard with multitouch support and integrated task manager.

The most impressive improvement is the better game develepment options and Android 2.3 intro video is mostly about that. Multimedia support gets a some new features like support for more formats, while there is also a thing called the NFC, or Near Field Communication that will give the device an ability to read tags, and this should bring a lot of option for developers.

The new Android 2.3 Gingerbread is available for Nexus S and reports are coming in that it should be available for Nexus One owner pretty soon. You can check out the introduction video below.
