Apple tries to add Galaxy S III to Nexus injunction motion

Raise your hand if you didn’t see this coming

Patent troll Apple is at it again. The outfit filed a motion before a US court to have Samsung’s new Galaxy S III added to an existing case against the Galaxy Nexus.

Apple argues that the S III is very similar to the Nexus and therefore should be included in the same case. Furthermore it supposedly violates two of the same patents, universal search and smart links.

Of course, the move did not go down well with Samsung. The Korean company argues that Apple should file a separate motion, rather than try to pin the S III to the Nexus. Samsung also pointed out that it did not have enough time to respond to Apple’s filing.

Earlier this week Apple also filed for an injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1N in Germany. One has to start wondering whether it is even worth reporting Apple’s injunction requests. Perhaps we should add a new segment on our frontpage, something like the weather, only for Apple injunctions.
