Demand outpaces supply

Samsung expects global sales of its flagship Galaxy S III handset to surpass 10 million units in July.

The outfit is apparently struggling to meet demand as carriers and off-contract consumers line up for the new phone.

Samsung exec Shin Jong-Kyun told AP that the company has been having a tough time keeping up with demand, but supply issues with some components will be resolved within a week. Shin also said that Samsung’s second-quarter earnings will be better than the first quarter.

Samsung launched the S III on May 29 and the company claims that the phone will be released by around 300 mobile carriers in 147 countries.
