Early listings point to €649 price tag for Galaxy S4

by on18 March 2013

Pricier than HTC One

A number of European retailers have started taking pre-orders for Samsung’s new Galaxy S4. Prices in continental Europe start at €649 for the 16GB version, while the 32GB version should go for €749.

Sounds rather pricey, but we are talking about the hottest Android phone out there. However, it is worth noting that all S4 SKU listed so far are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600, which also means they feature LTE. There are no Exynos 5 SKUs listed anywhere, at least not yet.

This might indicate that the Exynos version could show up a bit later. After all, Samsung reportedly started building the new 28nm parts only three to four months ago and it might take a while before it churns out enough units.

The HTC One is the only other smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 600 and it should end up a bit cheaper. In fact, the 32GB version is priced at €599, or €150 less than the Sammy.

Both phones should go on sale in April.
