HTC M4 coming this summer

HTC One mini pictured, again

At this rate 6-inch phablets like the Samsung Note will become normal size phones by next year, while 5-inchers will become compact, mini devices. Luckily that probably won’t happen, as the screen size craze is subsiding. HTC is taking a different approach with the M4, which looks exactly like a smaller version of the successful HTC One.

It has a similar build, 4 megapixel ultrapixel camera and the device pictured below is a 4.3-inch affair, with a 720p resolution screen. Back in November 2009, HTC released the HTC HD2, the biggest phone of its time and now companies including Samsung and HTC are ready to call their 4.3-inch devices minis.

The phone comes with 2GB memory, 16GB storage and a dual-core processor of unknown origin. This phone will be the answer to many prayers, as a growing number of consumers think that 4.7-or bigger phones are just too big for them. Bear in mind that the dual-core processor in M4 HTC One mini is definitely going to end up slower than the HTC One and it looks like that One mini comes this summer. The source mentions 400 Euro price for the One mini, but that sounds a bit too steep.

Its main competitor is Samsung Galaxy 3 Mini comes with 1.5GB RAM, 8GB storage and mini SD card slot that support up to 64GB of additional storage, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD and 1900mAh battery. The camera of this device is 8 Mega pixel but it should end up inferior to HTC’s Ultrapixel technology used in the M4. This one should also ship in summertime, at least in western markets.
