Sources tell us to expect iPhone 6 in September

by on26 June 2014

Sixth iPhone to feature a larger screen for sure

Our sources are telling us that the launch of the new iPhone 6 from Apple will come in September with the latest predicted date to be September 19th. If Apple does launch on September 19th, it would be about one year after the launch of the iPhone 5s and 5c.

The new iPhone 6 is expected with a much larger screen this time around and it will be made available only in 32GB and 64GB models. As for the screen it is expected that when it launches Apple will offer both a 4.7” and 5.5” screen with both models being thinner than the last generation. It is pretty much a given that both new models will use Apple’s new A8 processor this time out.

Speaking of the new iPhones, it is also expected that Apple will be launching iOS 8 upgrades as well at the same time. In addition to the new iOS 8 which will be running on the iPhone 6, it is rumored that the larger model will get optical image stabilization for its camera. Additional tweaks are expected for the iPhone 6 as well.

Beyond the new iPhone 6, it is expected that Apple will head into the holiday season with refreshed iPad offerings, a new MacBook Air with a retina display, a new Apple TV, and some sort of wrist-worn iWatch product. It is not clear if these as well as the iPhone 6 will all be announced at one press conference prior to the September 19th launch date for the iPhone 6, or Apple is planning two separate events.
