Windows 10 tablets arriving

Costs only £135 suggesting subsidies

The first Windows 10 with Bing tablets are starting to come to market, beginning with the Telcast X98 Air 3G.

The X98 has the same size screen as an iPad and costs £135. Traditionally cut price suppliers have had a problem putting Microsoft under the bonnet of their devices because it is pretty pricey.

However it seems that Microsoft has offered Windows 10 with Bing as free to its manufacturing partners and opened up Windows 10 to more of them.

Telcent plans to sell the X98 Air in China initially but has plans to expand to Europe, the Middle East and the rest of Asia.

The company's international tablets will be available with English or Spanish as the default language, and they'll come pre-loaded with apps chosen for those markets.

Teclast said that some of these tablets will be among the first devices to ship with Windows 10 with Bing.
However only the 64GB version of the company's X98 Air 3G 64GB tablet will run Windows 10 with Bing. Teclast's 64GB model will run only on Android.

Under the bonnet is an Intel Atom Z3736F Bay Trail processor, a 9.7 inch, 2048 x 1536 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and support for 3G WCDMA 2100/900 networks or 2G GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz bands.
