Lenovo launches ZUK Edge

by on21 December 2016

Looks rather nice

Lenovo has quietly released its ZUK Edge smartphone which shows it coming up with its own designs rather than borrowing from someone else.

The ZUK Edge has moved away from Lenovo's "looks a bit like the Xiaomi Mi Mix" design. The Edge comes with a physical home button and other features. The display only accounts for 86.4 percent of the entire screen, it also has a dimension of 142.9 x 74.5 x 7.68 mm.

The front home button under embeds the fingerprint scanner and is Lenovo's first underglass fingerprint sensor. The ZUK Edge comes in black and white colours. The black version is more rugged, and sophisticated . Both variants adopt an all-metal body build with 2.5D glass on top. The screen is flat so not really what you would expect from something called "edge".

The Edge has a 5.5-inch 1080 pixels display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35GHz. There are two storage versions – 4GB or 6GB RAM. Both have 64GB of expandable internal memory.

There is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera. There is a 3,100mAh battery with dual SIM / dual standby support.

Lenovo has also launched a ZUK Edge L Model which is a customised version of the ZUK Edge with a Lee Min Ho themed gift box. This is only interesting if you are into Korean movie stars.

The ZUK Edge version with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage costs $330, while the version with 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM starts $360. The Lee Min Ho ZUK Edge L Model has a $360 price tag. It will go on sale on 1 January.
