LG G6 flagship to be announced at MWC 2017

by on12 January 2017

Released in March

According to a report coming from South Korea, LG's upcoming G6 flagship smartphone will be announced at Mobile World Congress 2017 and available in March.

According to Korean press, citing a "high-ranking" company official, LG will announce the LG G6 smartphone on February 26th, a day before MWC 2017 opens its doors for visitors.

As rumored earlier, LG has decided to give up on the modular design but that does not mean it won't have any new features. The LG G6 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch QuadHD+ 2880x1440 panel with 18:9 aspect ratio, which is definitely a big surprise.

Earlier press release from LG Display also said that the display will be less than 1mm thick and that the company managed to reduce the bezel width by 20 percent at the top and 10 percent on the sides. The same display is also 10 percent more visible outdoors and uses 30 percent less battery, which might give the LG G6 an edge over the competition.

As far as the hardware goes, LG G6 will probably be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC with Adreno 450 GPU and at least 4GB of RAM.

Mobile World Congress 2017 starts on February 27th and LG will probably have a big presence there.
