The company behind the Maze brand is the OEM / ODM called YOP Communication Technology and this Shenzhen-based company has made quite a few phones for others and now it wants to try its luck on the rather crowded Chinese market.
The company already launched MAZE Blade 4G phone with a 1920x1080 5.5-inch screen, MediaTek 6753 at 1.3GHz Octa core, 3 GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The phone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera and is available for pre-orders until April 20 for $129.99 and after that date, it will sell for $139.99.
Gearbest will be ready to ship it after April 26, and the phone has a really tiny side bezel and reminds us on Sony XA1 powered with Helio P20.
The Maze Alpha, according to evleaks, comes with a 6 inch 1920x1080 screen covered with Gorilla Glass 4, Android 7, octa-core SoC of unknown origin (probably MediaTek) dual rear Sony Cameras where one of them is 13 megapixels. The Maze Alpha comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and packs a 4000 mAh battery.
The weakest possible link of this product might be the SoC inside. Xiaomi Mi Mix launched with Snapdragon 821 and 4 GB RAM and 128GB storage at the basic configuration and 6GB RAM and 256 GB storage at the higher end version making it a real high-end phone.
We are not sure if the SoC of the Maze Alpha will be able to touch these specs but it is quite certain that it won’t launch at the same price. What bothers us the most is the unknown launch date for the Maze Alpha as the new brands out of china tends to promise the phones and then delay it for months.
Fingers crossed for the newcomer, more competition in bezel-less area means that the prices will go down, and this you bellowed consumer is a great news for you.
