The first of many to come

Once again, the Xfastest forum has scored pictures of an upcoming motherboard, and this time it's the GA-X48-DQ6 from Gigabyte. This is, as far as we know, the first unofficial official picture of any X48 to appear.

The trick here is that the X48 chipset is pin-to-pin compatible with the X38; hence, the almost identical design to the GA-X38-DQ6. As you can see from the picture, the model name is different, but oddly enough it seems that Gigabyte forgot to change the text next to the memory modules to highlight the fact that the X48 chipset supports 1,600MHz DDR3 memory.

The only other differences we can see is that Gigabyte is using slightly different x16 PCIe slots with a less fancy version of the card retainers than what Gigabyte normally uses, as well as some slightly different capacitors in certain places.

You can find more pictures here but you have to register to see them.
