Ditches Quad-Crossfire

DFI's own 790FX based motherboard branded LP UT 790FX-M2R has been pixelized. As you can see from the picture below DFI decided to ditch the Quad-Crossfire option and placed only three PCI Express 2.0 X16 slots.

The design looks decent, with trademark colors of the popular LanParty series. We certainly like the cooling system, since it is small and as slim as it can be. This is possible because the RD790 is a small and cool chip. In addition to three PCIe x16 slots DFI added one PCIe x4 and three plain PCI slots. Other specs include six sATA ports, dual Gigabit LAN and 7.1 channel audio. The DFI will release the LP UT 790FX-M2RV branded motherboard which is basically the same thing with VoIP card.

These two boards will feature an advanced PWM, which will make them even more stable. They should be released next month with a price under €200.
