MCP78S GeForce 8200

We've gotten our hands on a lot more details about Asus' upcoming M3N78-EMH HDMI MCP78S based GeForce 8200 motherboard and in all honesty, it doesn't look too different from their AMD 780G based M3A78-EMH HDMI which we wrote about here.

Although this board features the single chipset MCP78S in favour of AMD's dual chipset 780G and SB700 solution of the M3A78-EMH HDMI, the M3N78-EMH HDMI seems to share the same features apart from the specific GPU related differences.

You'll get HDMI as the name suggests, DVI, a D-sub, four rear USB 2.0 ports, 7.1-channel HD audio and Gigabit Ethernet. The board has four memory slots, one x16 PCIe 2.0 slot, one x1 PCIe slot and two PCI slots. It also has six SATA connectors and headers for a further eight USB 2.0 ports.

Sadly Asus has decided to go with the same odd HDMI/DVI jumper block as on the M3A78-EMH HDMI which means that you have to manually set if you want to use DVI or HDMI, which is something we don't understand as we haven't seen this on any other board that features both HDMI and DVI.

Here's a block diagram of the board for your viewing pleasure.
