Intel competes with itself

The new product is faster than its own predecessor

While Nvidia and ATI try to compete with each other, claiming that one’s product is better than other's, Intel simply competes with itself. This is an incredibly clever marketing strategy where Intel’s marketing machine will simply state that the new GMA 4500 HD is simply 1.7 times faster than the last G35 chipset.

Intel doesn’t even bother to mention that Nvidia and ATI also have IGP integrated chipsets, as they are not so important. They use these smart tactics as they don’t want to educate their potential customers about the existence of any form of competition. As long as no one asks, don’t tell them, but since Intel has more than 50 percent of the graphics market it obviously works.

Intel also fails to inform the market that its previous G35 chipset had weak adoption and it was very slow in graphics, so beating it by a factor of 1.7 is not that tough, after all. But as we can see, Intel’s tactics work.
