On the Intel motherboard side

Intel will showcase many P45 chipsets, and the only major difference from P35 will be official support for Crossfire and two PCIe 2.0. The rest is already seen on most P35 and many X38 and X48 boards.

The old P35 boards had Crossfire support, but not officially, and new P45 also supports DDR2 design, as well as its preferred DDR3. The new memory is simply too expensive and it doesn’t attract many users.

There will be a bunch of boards based on the P45 chipset and, of course, many will showcase their already seen but still not launched X48 boards.
