For industrial usage and Intel CPUs

Although AMD's DTX platform never really took off, it seem to have found something of a home in the industrial PC market, at least if DFI's latest model is anything to go by. The CA230-BF is a peculiar beast as not only does it use AMD's Mini-DTX form factor, but it also uses an Intel GM45 chipset.

The peculiarities don't stop there, though, as this motherboard has been designed for embedded Core 2 Duo processors and supports the Core 2 Duo T9400 processor on a 1,066MHz bus. It has two SO-DIMM slots that accept up to 8GB of DDR2 memory at either 667 or 800MHz.

Being a Mini-DTX board, it has space for more slots than a mini-ITX board, and as such you'll find a x16 PCIe slot and a PCI slot, but somehow DFI has also managed to squeeze in a single PCIe x1 slot, but it's located behind the PCI slot, which suggests that it can only be used if a riser card is installed.

Other features include two PS/2 ports, two serial ports, a DVI and a D-sub connector, four rear USB 2.0 ports and headers for four more, Gigabit Ethernet and some form of onboard audio. It also has four SATA ports and an LVDS interface on the board.

You can find the press relase here.
