Nothing special apart from the CPU

OCWorkbench has scored a picture of ECS's upcoming dual-core Atom N330 motherboard, which goes under the name of P45GC, and although this is the first dual-core Atom motherboard we've seen with exception of the Intel one, there really isn't much that sets this board apart from the competition.

We know Intel has imposed a wide range of restrictions to the platform, but we're starting to feel like this is what's holding the Atom back from gaining a bigger popularity. The motherboard has two PS/2 ports, a serial and a parallel port, a D-sub connector, four USB 2.0 ports, 10/100Mbit Ethernet and 5.1-channel audio via three jacks.

It's also got a single memory slot and as this board follows the mini-ITX standard, it only has a single PCI slot, unlike ECS's previous board which was a DTX board and which had both a PCI and a x1 PCIe slot. There are also two SATA ports, one IDE connector and two headers for a total of four additional USB ports.

The CPU appears to be passively cooled, while the 945GC chipset is cooled by a large heatsink and fan. Overall, we can't say that we're amazed by this board, but it's not a fault of ECS by any means, but rather that of Intel's restrictions.
