€129
with single-core Atom 230

Following up Point of view’s announcement and official pictures and release of Ion based motherboard that we posted here, we managed to talk to the guys and get some official prices.

The company confirms that they will have two models available, one with an Atom 230 single-core and one with the dual-core Atom 330. Most importantly, the CPU will be bundled with the motherboard.

The focus will be on the Atom 330 and this Point of view Ion platform should be selling for €139 including tax, and this is resellers' recommended price.

The Atom 230 model should be available for €129 including tax. Compared to Intel's nettop platform we are talking about roughly 100 percent price difference, as Intel's Essential Series D945GCLF2D, i945GC, Mini-ITX with Atom 330 is available for slightly under €70.

This looks as a huge difference, but Ion does makes a big difference in multimedia and basic gaming experience. We just wonder is it worth this steep price difference.
