With the global decline in PC shipments finally showing signs of slowing, motherboard vendors are expecting to see a correlated slowing of overall volume in 2017, with some estimates hovering near 10 percent from last year.

Intel is expected to announce Basin Falls, its upcoming High-End Desktop (HEDT) platform based on the X299 chipset, and its Coffee Lake mainstream desktop platform based on the Z300-series chipset, two months earlier than originally scheduled, according to industry sources.
