Over
the past years Samsung has made giant leaps in its consumer electronics division. From being nothing more than a cheap alternative to established brands, its mobile phones, MP3 players and digital cameras have become desirable fashion items. The market demands good design, no matter what's inside and Samsung is cashing in on its slim phones, stylish notebooks, cameras, portable media players and all sorts of gadgets. Desktop computers are the next big thing and we've already seen some interesting, futuristic concepts  from Samsung's designers. They've raised quite a bit of dust and it's time to check them out for ourselves.

The E41 is just one of these new and exciting products, technically advanced, feature packed, reliable, yet affordable and marvelously designed. Its glossy navy black finish looks stunning, leaving the impression of a much pricier machine. It's powerful, too, at 1600W you can be sure you're not gonna save a square inch of Brazilian rain forest in your lifetime. Cooling is not an issue with such an oversized exhaust, but global warming is. Anyway, the vent looks great, like something you'd see on a British coupe.

Another welcome addition is Samsung's highly praised Cyclone Filter which traps dust in a vortex of air, assuring that the hardware inside will remain dust free and cool. It is practical too, very easy to empty and clean, although people with large hands will have trouble reaching the bottom. It's still much easier to clean than conventional filters, and you can always see how much dust has accumulated in it.

Samsung chose not to use the shiny navy blue plastic on the sides of the case. It opted, instead, for a combination of durable gray and dark gray matte plastic. It still looks nice, though, only the wheels look a bit on the cheap side. Luckily, they're pimpable and you can get yourself a set of chrome rims, instead.

We've just started testing Samsung's new rig, but even now we can tell you that it leaves Alienware's flagship in a cloud of dust.
