Barcelona K10 gets the name

Opteron 2268 rocks at 2.4 GHz


We received a confirmation of the future product numbers of AMD Opteron "Barcelona" 2000-Series Quad-core CPUs. The slowest one is called AMD Opteron 2258 and it works at 1.9 GHz. The second in line is AMD Opteron 2260 and it works at 2.0 GHz.

The third one is AMD Opteron 2262 and it works at 2.1 GHz, fourth AMD Opteron 2264 and it works at 2. 2 GHz, fifth AMD Opteron 2266 and it works at 2.3 GHz and the last one sixth in the line is AMD Opteron 2268 and it works at 2.4 GHz.

All these CPUs are powered with 4x512 KB of L2 cache and 2 MB of L3 cache. The biggest limitation of Barcelona K10 core is HyperTransport 1.0 support that works at modest 1000 MHz while the HT 3 chips are scheduled for later date.

The launch revision is called B1-Stepping.
