Knew everything about the company

Hackers based in China used Nortel's computer network for nearly a decade.

According to the CBA the hackers gained access to the former telecommunications giant as far back as 2000 and stayed for the LOLs. Brian Shields, a former Nortel employee who launched an internal investigation of the attacks said that the hackers “had access to everything” and they had plenty of time. All they had to do was figure out what they wanted.

The hackers nicked business plans, research and development reports, employee emails and other documents. According to the internal report, Nortel “did nothing from a security standpoint” about the attacks.
