CA sues Rocket Software

I.P. theft, seeks injunction


An announcement
was issued by Computer Associates that it has filed suit against Rocket Software, Inc. of Newton, Massachusetts for US$200 million for theft of CA’s database management software products, source code and intellectual property.

More particularly, the CA lawsuit against Rocket Software alleges that Rocket stole CA trade secrets, infringed on CA copyrights and engaged in unfair business competition.

The lawsuit stems from the development of Rocket’s software tools that are used for the IBM DB2 relational database management system.
