Updated: 97.94 for Win XP - BSODS Quad FX SLI

So much about the unified driver strategy. The G80 is unlike anything Nvidia did before and therefore has to have a special driver. Nvidia has just released a new driver that supports Geforce 8800 GTX and GTS cards called 97.94.

Graphzilla offers a lot of compatibility fixes and new PureVideo marchitecture. With this new PureVideo driver Nvidia should score 128 in prestige HQV video quality benchmark. It improved inverse telecine algorithms (2:2 & 3:2 Pull-down Correction) for standard and high definition content. It also improved spatial-temporal de-interlacing algorithm for standard and high definition content.

It also includes a new Control Panel and, of course, it supports DirectX 9.0c and OpenGL 2.1.

You can grab it here and we will try to play with this new control centre to see if it's any better.

Update: We tried to install this driver on Quad FX machines powered with two FX74 CPUs and we didn't had any luck as we killed the Windows XP and had to restore back to a new driver. We advise that you avoid this driver if you have Quad FX and two Geforce 8800 GTX cards.
