One Laptop Per Child upgrades

The One Laptop Per Child Project is set to be upgraded.

The new spec for the machine is a 433MHz AMD Geode LS-500 processor which has been increased from 366MHz, 256MB of system RAM, an increase from 128MB and a 1GB NAND drive which was previously 512MB.

The three USB ports, stereo speakers, VGA webcam, SD card slot, and microphone will all be the same.


Orders for the super cheap machine are banking up, according to the OLPC program.
