According to the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), more than 2.37 million Blu-ray discs were sold in the E.U. thus far.
Blu-ray has outsold HD-DVD by a ratio of 4:1 and grabbed a 79% market share last year. Of course, this year the number is probably going to be in the high nineties.
There are around 3.2 million PlayStation 3 in European households, along with thousands of standalone Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Europeans bought just 55.000 standalone HD-DVD players and XboX 360 Add-on drives, which sounds remarkably low.
