Asus launches GeForce 8200 barebones
No motherboards in sight as yet
If you read our post about the upcoming Terminator 4 or T4-series of barebones from Asus, which we told you about here, but wanted an AMD version, then you'll be glad to know that Asus has officially launched a version with Nvidia's GeForce 8200 chipset in it.
The chassis is identical, but the same hardware will also be available in the older T3 chassis, as well. Hardware-wise, you're looking at a MCP78S or GeForce 8200 chipset, four memory slots, one PCIe x16 slot and one PCI slot, three SATA connectors and a 300W PSU.
Connectors around the back include Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, four USB 2.0 ports, 7.1-channel audio with optical S/PDIF out and maybe most importantly, an HDMI connector. This makes the GeForce 8200 model far superior to the Intel G31 version which lacks HDMI. Around the front there are another four USB 2.0 ports, another FireWire connector and a multi-format memory card reader, as well as 3.5mm jacks for a headset.
