Asus has launched a new collection of LCD monitors that are designed to bring video/audio communication without the additional cost of getting a Webcam and headset. In the near future this collection will feature LCD monitors in 19" W, 22" W, 24" W and bigger sizes, but for now Asus has a 22-inch model and a 24-inch model ready and rolling.
The 24- inch model, branded ASUS MK241H, comes with a native HDMI support for HD 1080p video playback, and it will feature a built-in 1.3M Webcam and array microphones, so MSN video/audio communication will be as easy as it gets. Both the 22-inch model and 24-inch model will also feature two 2W stereo speakers, and a response time of 2ms (GTG). The 24-inch inch model will also use Color Rich Technology, which has 130% extra color saturation, and will feature a contrast of 3000:1, and a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 WUXGA.
The 22-inch model will also support HDMI, DVI-D and D-Sub inputs, the same as the 24-inch model. This one will have contrast of 5000:1 with a maximum resolution of 1680x1050 WSXGA+. The availability date and the price is yet unknown, but these new monitors should hit the market very soon.
