CM Storm Sirus 5.1 surround headset
Cooler Master has released yet another product that will be a part of its CM Storm lineup, the CM Storm Sirus 5.1 surround headset. We already had a chance to check it out and take it for a spin during Cebit, and although we aren't fans of bulky 5.1 surround headsets, we must say that CM did a good job on this one, as it is pretty light and quite comfortable.

CM Storm Sirus packs no less than eight speakers, four per side. Each of the two cups hold a single 40mm and three 30mm drivers that allow Sirus to provide a clear subwoofer (40mm one) and front, center and rear sound (via 30mm ones). The spec list also notes that the Sirus has 32 Ohms impedance for 30mm drivers and 16 Ohms for the 40mm sub. The sensitivity is rated at over 105dB and it has frequency response between 10Hz and 20,000Hz with less than 1% distortion.

Of course, what kind of a gaming headset would the Sirus be if id didn't come with a mic. The mic on the Sirus is an uni-directional mic with 2.2k Ohm impedance, -46dB sensitivity, frequency response between 100 and 10,000Hz, background noise cancellation and LED mute indicator.

The Sirus also comes with interchangeable ear-cups and you even get two pair of those, one based on micro fiber for full comfort and leatherette ones in case you want some passive noise cancellation. It also has a tactical mixing console for on the fly adjustments.

The CM Storm Sirus 5.1 headset is scheduled to show up in retail as of August with a suggested price tag of €119.99.
