Pictures tell the story how to make it happen

NakedMac is the username of a Flickr user who has stripped down and upgraded his Apple Time Capsule for all to see. For those that didn’t already know, the Time Capsule is an all-in-one network attached storage device targeted toward user backups while also offering wireless access point abilities.

In the 16 photos we see that Hitachi is supplying the hard drives that Apple is using in the Time Capsule device, and, as with most Apple devices, it is a cramped and efficient use of the space necessary to deliver an elegant product.

You can have a look at the pictures here, but given the compact nature of the device, we would suggest that you are careful with your selection of hard drive if you are going to upgrade the unit. With the cramped quarters for the drive, low heat dissipation and low power consumption might be more important than maximizing the amount of storage that you can cram into one of these.
