High overclock and high price

MAINGEAR, a U.S.-based company that specializes high-end computer systems, has announced its latest system called Ephex Skulltrail. As you can guess from the name, it's based on Intel's Skulltrail platform.

The base price of this high-end beauty is no less than a whopping US$8,955. This prices includes two Intel QX9775 Core 2 Extreme processors, two WD's Raptors, 4GB of memory, Maingear's own Arctic dual water-cooling system and two ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 cards in CrossfireX. This gaming beast looks very "high-end," but so does the price.

Maingear offers an option to overclock the CPUs to 4.0GHz, or as Maingear likes to call it "Redline your CPU." You can check out the system here, where you can also customize it to include more hard drives, more power and an even higher price tag.
