Russian president swears on Twitter

by on08 December 2011

Shock horror

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is in hot water after a foul mouthed abuse directed at his political rivals appeared on his twitter feed.

Not happy with fixing the recent elections, Medvedev responded to growing anger against him and his chum Prime Minister Vladimir Putin with a post where he used the f word in a reference to oral sex. The offensive post on Wednesday appeared to have been retweeted on the MedvedevRussia feed at 33 minutes past midnight, according to cached copies of the feed and a notification of the post received by a Reuters reporter.

"It has become clear that if a person writes the expression 'party of swindlers and thieves' in their blog then they are a stupid sheep getting f----d in the mouth :)" the post read. The phrase "Party of swindlers and thieves" is used by the opposition to describe Medvedev's ruling United Russia party. It was coined by prominent anti-corruption blogger Alexei Navalny, who  Medvedev had jailed for 15 days for opposing his rule.

The Kremlin said "an improper retweet" had appeared on Medvedev's account and blamed an unidentified official for having interfered with the feed. "The guilty will be punished", it said in a statement. In other words  Medvedev had nothing to do with such a comment and anyone who thinks so is also a stupid sheep getting f----d in the mouth. He has reason to be a little embarrassed Medvedev has always traded on the fact that he isan educated, Twitter-savvy leader.

Not that educated people don't swear of course.
