Google I/O 2012: To include movies, TV series, magazines and books

In an effort bring even more content for its new Nexus 7 tablet, Google has updated its Google Play and focused it a bit more on media. As of now, Google Play, in addition to standard Apps, will also offer movies, TV series, books, music and magazines.

Google has not announced the full list but did not that leading publishers of magazines like Condé Nast, Hearst, Meredith and more will offer magazines like House Beautiful, Men’s Health, Shape and WIRED. As far as the TV shows are concerned, Google said that some TV shows like Revenge, Parks & Recreation and Breaking Bad, are already available which includes studios like ABC Studios, NBC Universal and Sony Pictures so you can expect more from those. Paramount was also mentioned briefly during the keynote.

Google wanted to strike a blow against Amazon's Kindle Fire and it looks like they are definitely on a roll.
