According to the Wall Street Journal, software giant Microsoft has approached Facebook to gauge its interest in a possible takeover. Facebook is the most popular social networking site with more than 70 million users at the moment.

There are no details about the indecent proposal and both companies declined to comment on the issue. Microsoft already has a $240 million stake in Facebook, which is currently valued at $15 billion.

Microsoft's offer comes less than a week after it pulled its unsolicited $45 billion bid to buy Yahoo!
