Kiwi cricketer escapes censor
Text and violence
A top Kiwi cricketer who sent an expletive filled SMS to a fellow cricketer, turned hack, will not be punished.
Scott Styris sent the text to former teammate-turned-commentator Mark Richardson after a negative newspaper article written by Richardson following the controversial one-day match against England. The first text referred to Richardson as a "geriatric sh*thead" and added that the team hoped he died choking on the Sh*t that he spoke. With all the excrement references here, we are sure Freud would have a field day.
In a second text Styris abused Richardson again as a "scribe/hack/journo/wannabe journo", of course after his performance one would think that it would be a similar insult to call him a "wanna be cricketer". A New Zealand Cricket spokesman today said that no formal action would be taken against Styris, but he would get a stern talking too.
