Nvidia signs deal with Baidu over AI

Self driving cars is the name of the game


Baidu is holding its world conference in Beijing today and has signed a partnership with Nvidia to build a so called “cloud to car” autonomous platform for car makers and for the Chinese market.

The deal will link Baidu’s cloud and mapping technologies to provide automated parking, level three autonomous behicle control and to cread HD maps.

Jen-Hsun Huang, the dashing CEO of Nvidia (pictured), said that the deal meant his firm is going to bring technical know how and expertise in artificial intelligence to create self driving cars connected to the cloud.

Both the companies have worked together on artificial intelligence in the past. Huang said: “One of the intelligent machines we would like to build in the future is the self driving car”.

Nvidia showed off its Drive PX 2 at the Baidu World expo. Nvidia claims its the first in car intelligence supercomputer development platform.

Earlier this year, Nvidia struck an important deal with Uber. It looks like it's racing ahead of the competition....
