Apple delays HomePod

We could not invent more than the name and the silly price

The fruity tax dodging cargo cult Apple has admitted that it has not invented Amazon’s echo speaker yet.

Apparently, the Apple team sat down with the marketing and design people and came up with the name and shape of the “HomePod”. They had already settled on a ridiculous price for the device – $349.

Now Apple’s software geniuses have admitted that they need more time on the device because they cannot actually make it go yet. Apple has delayed the release of its HomePod speaker until 2018 when it should have been out for Christmas.

An Apple spokesperson said that Apple needs more time to work on the HomePod.

“We can't wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple's breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it's ready for our customers. We'll start shipping in the US, UK and Australia in early 2018."

Apple claims the HomePod will take on higher-end sound systems like Sonos, as well as smart assistants like the Amazon Echo and Google Home.

The cylindrical speaker features a seven-speaker array of tweeters, a four-inch subwoofer, and a six-microphone array – yeah a single speaker is going to provide high-end stereo… right!

Word on the street is that it is not the mechanics of the device that is causing the problem. The issue is that Apple’s AI personal assistant Siri has fallen behind Amazon and Google Assistant.

Apple attempted to re-market the HomePod at WWDC in June was music first and smart features second. The downside with that problem is that we are not talking a tiny mono speaker which sould like someone drawing their nails on a chalk-board [U2 is supposed to sound like that .ed] and if the Assistant is pants too you might as well pass. There is no firm release date for the HomePod so your ears are safe for now.
