Do not adjust your expectations

Panasonic has said that it will bring 3D high-definition television into consumers' homes, and to make sure that people get the message it has hired Titanic director James Cameron to flog the idea. Cameron said that 3D was not a gimmick and was ready for prime-time.

While the 3D Full HD Plasma system made its debut at October's CEATEC exhibition in Japan, it was the first time it was shown United States. The system uses a 103-inch Plasma HDTV and a Blu-ray player to transmit high-definition 3Dimages to viewers wearing special glasses.

Panasonic chairman Yoshi Yamada reiterated the company's commitment to home 3D HDTV and calledfor the creation of a single standard to encourage the development of more 3D HD content.
