Reuters is reporting that a 27-year-old Polish man hung himself while in a video chat, on his 27th birthday.

The police were informed of the incident by another participant in the chat who witnessed the whole thing, after he said the video stream was motionless and the camera was in "a strange position". The police arrived, only to find the man dead.

Tadeusz Halas, the district prosecutor in charge of the case, said the man's parents were completely unaware of the tragedy, and were sleeping in another room in the same apartment.

Halas said that the man was out drinking with friends, celebrating his birhday. He told them that he had prepared a surprise for his birthday, but seemed depressed.

A Polish tabloid is reporting that the man was talking to a woman in the chatroom, and at one point took off his shirt, and asked “Who wants to see me hang myself ?” He apparently hung himself in while she was watching.
