Arrived quicker than we expected

It seems like Marvell's new SheevaPlug PC has already found its way into the retail market under the brand of Pogoplug from CloudEngines. In all fairness, we've never heard of this company before and the Pogoplug seems to be their only product at the moment.

The Pogoplug lacks the SDIO card slot and the mini USB 2.0 port of the dev kit from Marvell, but according to the rather witty FAQ on the Pogoplug website, you can attach a USB hub to the Pogoplug and attach as many drives you want via it. However, a downside to this would be slower access to each of the drives, especially when more than one is being accessed at the same time.

The good news is that the Pogoplug is up for pre-order for $79 (€62/£56) which is $20 cheaper than the dev kit. According to the website, you don't even have to set up the Pogoplug, just plug it in, attach it to your router, plug in a hard drive and you're ready to go. To access your Pogoplug you log in on the my.pogoplug.com portal which allows you to access it from just about anywhere via the internet. CloudEngines even have an iPhone app for the Pogoplug which should appeal to everyone that owns an iPhone.
