But gets demoted to the Poulsbo platform

Remember the thin Acer One that we wrote about a little while back? Well, it turns out that it'll be quite different from the current crop of Acer One's, in more ways than one. The good news is the 11.6-inch screen, although it's in 16:9 format, but with a resolution of 1,366x768 which makes up for the aspect ratio.

The bad news is the fact that it uses Intel's Poulsbo platform which is anything but popular with the netbook crowd. The Z-series Atom processors have yet to prove themselves in comparison to the N270 and the faster models are priced too high for most consumers to consider them as a viable option. The USW15S is also lacking, despite offering lower power usage and better video decoding features than the ageing 945GMS, but it seems to suffer in terms of graphics performance in both 2D and 3D.

The new model has a claimed battery life of four hours which doesn't really seem that impressive and the extended battery option is said to double this. There's no word on a release date or pricing so far, but it doesn't seem like this new addition to the Acer One product range is too far away.
