Sony walkman uses streaming

Good price let down by the storage space

Sony has turned to streaming in its latest Walkman.

The NW-A306 also features a new sound engine that can enhance your favorite tracks from your streaming service of choice. It fixes a big problem with streamed music in that they lack the dynamic range and acoustic subtleties of the original tracks.

This Walkman has Edge-AI and DSEE Ultimate (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) features, which are designed to upscale compressed digital music files in real time – providing a much richer and more dynamic experience during playback.

Also included are the Walkman’s existing hi-res features like LDAC – which allows anyone using a pair of the best wireless headphones to enjoy high-quality audio without wires – and its 360 Reality Audio feature, which allows the player to immerse you with its 3D soundscape.

The downside to this Walkman is the lack of storage space. The Sony NW-A306 has 32GB of storage which is reduced to 18GB once you have installed all the software.

The price is £350 which is pretty good compaired to what is out there at the moment.
