Disk drive industry consolidates

 

    There are signs that the disk drive industry is consolidating further after Western Digital agreed to buy component maker Komag.The deal is for about $1 billion in cash and comes amid a sharp fall inprices in hard-drives.


Komag warned that revenue for the second quarter will be down at least 30 percent from the first quarter.
