Steve Jobs still invited to speak, however

The rumors that Apple had agreed to participate as an exhibitor at CES 2010 have now been confirmed untrue. While Apple is a member of CEA, who is responsible for putting on CES, the company has not signed up to exhibit at the event despite several reports indicating otherwise.

The rumor that Steve Jobs from Apple was invited, however, to speak at CES 2010 has now been confirmed as true. The problem is that he has not yet accepted this invitation to deliver a keynote speech at the event.

Those who believed that Apple would move to go a bit more mainstream by exhibiting at CES will be a bit disappointed, but it is believed that Apple will just continue to march to the beat of its own drummer. Still, many believe that Apple will have to start being more active in events like CES to take advantage of the amount of press that these events bring to call attention to the products they are making and to focus a greater emphasis on consumer oriented products; and CES would seem to be one place that Apple should really be.
